Responsible for handling all day-to-day issues regarding various store-based services including trash, recycling and environmental compliance. Establishes the first-service, coordinates all ongoing day-to-day management of various outside service companies, and works with distribution centers (including offsite cross docking facilities) and the corporate office on various projects.
Job Details:- Oversees all day-to-day tasks involved with external trash, recycling and/or environmental compliance management companies (stores). Analyzes and makes decisions on all service request changes through review of policies and communication with the district managers and regional director; ensures that all polices and budgets are followed.
- Partners with team members at the distribution centers and other offsite cross-docking facilities to ensure the required tracking for recycling is performed correctly and in a timely manner. 10%
- Provides random audits and site visits to outsource management companies to ensure they are providing contracted services and maintaining relationships (including all service companies having correct insurance and other requirements and ensuring that all stores are billed on the correct rates).
- Conducts research and analysis of various methods to reduce the amount of waste going into a landfill including helping identify new items to be recycled through various analysis of data.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, often with conflicting time constraints
- Advanced knowledge of environmental services (trash, recycling)
- Advanced knowledge of process improvement processes
- §Knowledge of environmental compliance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Bachelor's degree preferred (preferably with an environmental services or process improvement emphasis).
- Three to five years' experience can be substituted for degree.
- Previous experience in the waste management field and energy required.
