We are seeking a Career Technical Training (CTT) Substitute Instructor to provide instructional support within our Job Corps Career Technical Training programs. In this role, you will deliver hands-on, industry-relevant instruction while helping students build the technical, professional, and employability skills necessary for long-term career success.
As a substitute instructor, you will step into a dynamic training environment and support students in developing the knowledge, workplace behaviors, and technical competencies required to enter today's workforce with confidence.

Schedule: Up to 29 hours/week
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in assigned Career Technical Training programs in accordance with Job Corps and center requirements.
- Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, shop, and hands-on learning experiences that support student skill development.
- Promote a positive, safe, and professional learning environment that encourages student success and retention.
- Maintain appropriate classroom and shop discipline to maximize learning and safety.
- Build positive relationships with students and serve as a mentor and role model for workforce readiness behaviors.
- Integrate employability skills, professionalism, and Career Success Standards into daily instruction.
- Utilize curriculum resources, training materials, and industry-based practices to enhance learning outcomes.
- Ensure adequate preparation and organization of training materials, equipment, and instructional activities.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, progress documentation, and required Job Corps forms.
- Monitor and reinforce industry safety standards and proper use of tools, equipment, and training facilities.
- Maintain accountability for classrooms, training areas, tools, equipment, and supplies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching, instructional, or training experience in Career Technical Education (CTE), workforce development, apprenticeships, or industry training programs.
- Industry-recognized credentials related to assigned training area.
- Experience working with at-risk youth or young adults.
- Comfortable teaching in both classroom and hands-on training environments.
- Safety-conscious and committed to industry best practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree, trade certification, or military experience required.
- Must be at least 22 years of age per Florida Department of Education substitute teaching requirements.
- Teaching certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
