Position Summary
In collaboration with the Campus Director, the Assistant Director will provide leadership and assist in the overall administration of the school. The Assistant Director will assist in the development of procedures, organizational plans, goals and objectives in order to maintain a fully compliant and highly effective school.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Completion of appropriate background check(s).

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • 5+ years of teaching experience
  • Leadership or school administration experience
  • Instructional coaching experience
  • Business experience

 

 

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies, curriculum implementation, and Charter One's evaluation tool and rubric.
  • Computer proficiency (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite).
  • Skilled in coaching and leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to effectively articulate ideas orally and in writing.
  • Ability to make effective oral presentations before large groups of people.
  • Ability to exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with school staff and stakeholders.

General Responsibilities

  • Assume supervision on behalf or in the absence of the Director.
  • Collaborate with the Director to oversee the effective implementation of the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process, EEL Instructional Model, and Charter One-approved curriculum.
  • Oversee documentation of PLC meeting agendas, tutoring sign-in logs, teacher newsletters, etc.
  • Monitor lesson plan development and grading practices, providing feedback as needed.
  • Observe and evaluate teacher/staff performance using Charter One's informal/formal evaluation rubrics.
  • Effectively articulate performance expectations with staff.
  • Collaborate with the Director to provide professional development and coaching to staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director to develop and enforce Teacher Improvement Plans.
  • Oversee all benchmark, state, and other required standardized testing.
  • Analyze and report student data.
  • Collaborate with the Director to build Master Schedule and class rosters.
  • Attend IEP and 504 meetings, serving as LEA and 504 Coordinator as needed.
  • Oversee MTSS team and process.
  • Collaborate with the Director to establish and maintain Charter One expectations for policy and procedure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Director to provide oversight of Title 1 coach, Instructional Coach, and Reading Specialist (if applicable).
  • Address student behavior and student handbook compliance as needed.
  • Oversee coordination of Parent-Teacher and Student-Led Conferences; Maintain documentation of attendance.
  • Use the 5S System to maintain accurate inventory of all curriculum and identify needs.
  • Assist the Director with hiring of teachers and staff.
  • Build and maintain rapport with staff, students, and families.
  • Resolve conflict among stakeholders as needed and accurately document stakeholder feedback.
  • Lead campus-wide initiatives and coordinate and attend campus events as needed.
 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.

 

 

  FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

 

 

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA's policy.
