The Business Banking Specialist is responsible for expanding business relationships with EECU members and acquiring new relationships by providing needs-based products and services primarily through the Digital Channel. The Business Banking Specialist manages applications for small business loans, credit cards and new business deposit accounts. Will also assist with establishing and managing treasury management services. Applications are initiated primarily online or via phone.
The Business Banking Specialist must promptly respond and communicate with members in a professional articulate manner through phone calls, email and in person, when necessary. Expected to identify products that will enhance the member's financial relationship with EECU including deposit products, loans and treasury services, when applicable.
Key Responsibilities for this Business Banking Specialist:
Business Accounts: Receive business account applications/referrals via phone or online. Verify and obtain all entity and identification documentation needed from members to prepare and establish a business account. Obtain all required signatures, create and fund the business account, and ensure the member is provided with all information needed to properly manage their account (i.e. checks, debit cards, online banking setup, etc.
Business Loans: Receive loan applications/referrals via phone, online or from EECU financial centers. Communicate with members regarding loan requests and answers questions to ensure member is applying for the loan product that best fits their needs. Evaluate business loan applications, obtain necessary documentation from borrowers, and financially analyze packages to determine eligibility. Submit complete loan packages to TBLG/EECU Underwriter. Communicate decision recommendations (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals, uphold fair lending practices, meet targets for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Review approved loan applications and coordinate loan document preparation.
Commercial Loan Administration: Provide further administrative/ account maintenance support to EECU Commercial Lending team, as necessary. Verify completion of documents (pre- and post-execution), facilitate loan closing and funding, and assist with tracking/ receipt/verification of exception items related to proper loan documentation per policy/guidelines/regulations. Follow up with EECU members and/or state agencies & businesses to clear documentation and collateral exceptions. Required to obtain/verify appraisals, title policies, flood clearance, hazard insurance policies, surveys, titles and UCC filings. Ensures all Deeds of Trusts, Titles and UCC filings are perfected.
Treasury Account Management: Assist with establishing and managing treasury accounts to support ACH, Wires, Positive Pay, Remote Deposit Capture and other essential services. Work collaboratively with third-party vendors to facilitate seamless account setup & management processes.
Manage incoming calls and online applications to ensure all business members are handled quickly and efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. Understand the members needs to effectively offer alternative solutions if necessary. Fully communicate application decisions and updates to members in a professional manner. Monitor all interactions for potential fraud, protecting members as well as the credit union. Must demonstrate the ability to be versatile and utilize multiple programs including MerdianLink, Symitar, nCino and others.
Meet or exceed established service level goals. Meet or exceed time management metrics while completing applications with accuracy. Maintain productivity time standards while handing all interactions.
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Reg Z, Reg B, FCRA/FACTA, and Service Members Civil Relief. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
Ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Business/ Commercial banking preferred
- Experience in financial analysis, and general loan and account compliance preferred.
- Experience and/or knowledge in State and Federal laws, rules and regulations regarding commercial lending and the requirements for documentation closing, filing, and lien perfection preferred.
