The Welding Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to multiple departments with all aspects of Company welding activities related to the oil and gas industry. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Reviews and approves Company preassessment engineering letters for lower risk in-service applications to provide technical support (i.e. assessing risk, stipulating welding parameters, communicating required welding techniques, etc.).
- Reviews and approves third-party vendor welding procedure specifications / procedure qualification records to ensure code/standard compliancy for various departments within the Company (i.e., capital projects, field engineering, and operations) for typical construction applications.
- Provides technical assistance to internal groups on aspects of Company welding procedures, and explanation of Company standards.
- Provide support during development of Company or project specific welding procedures and/or welder qualifications based on direction from Senior/Staff Welding Engineer or department management.
Requirements
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Metallurgical Engineering, and/or equivalent.
- Knowledge in traditional welding techniques.
- Knowledge in Non-destructive Examination “NDE” (UT, RT, MT, PT, etc.).
- Hands-on welding experience in multiple welding processes.
- Ability to work in varied environments and climates.
- Is self-motivated and has high quality work ethics.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
