Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership's assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

The Senior Cost Estimator will work with the concept development engineers, field engineers, and project managers to generate and validate cost estimates.  The accuracy level of these estimates will vary between screening estimates to AFE quality estimates, depending on the stage of the project.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop midstream and facility type estimates for both oil and gas, ranging from billion dollar capital projects to smaller field engineering scopes.
  • Prepare all levels of estimates ranging in price and complexity from a simple factored or curve-type, screening estimate to a detailed scope, AFE-quality estimate.
  • Research and utilize historical costs to help estimate conceptual projects.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of various estimating tools and databases.
  • Build Aspen Capital Cost Estimators models for facility cost benchmarking.
  • Appraise the overall accuracy of estimates in order to determine the necessary contingency levels for different project types.
  • Work with the Procurement, Land, and Environmental groups to help determine accurate project costs as well as potential project hurdles.
  • Complete required estimating workload in an accurate and timely manner.


Requirements

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of total estimating and/or project experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of midstream energy industry facilities including pipelines (gas, liquids, and natural gas liquids), pump and compressor stations, gas and liquid measurement facilities, above and below ground storage, liquid terminals, gas processing facilities and natural gas liquids fractionation is desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with various groups across the organization.
  • Sufficient proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, estimating software and tools including Aspen Capital Cost Estimator.
  • Must be self-motivated and have demonstrated the ability to drive tasks to completion.  
  • Proven communication skills that enable problem solving are required.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
