Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. The Pipeline (I&E) Technician's primary focus will be Electrical. However, will perform a variety of operational and maintenance functions and duties including inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing equipment in, around and on Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pipelines and at OSHA/PSM/DOT regulated facilities in order to maintain high levels of safe and productive equipment performance. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Participate in installing all electrical components safely.
- Troubleshoot problems with control systems and complex equipment associated with advanced motor controls.
- Maintain advanced monitoring devices (solid state and microprocessor protective relays and power distribution devices).
- The ability to read P&ID and electrical diagrams and other complex electrical drawings.
- Interpret plant electrical diagrams.
- Update electrical drawings.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, substation and branch feeders, variable frequency drives, etc.
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and parts associated with this equipment.
- Provide training and technical support
- Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement facilities and perform product quality control tests.
- Locate pipelines as needed and oversee excavations and line crossings.
- Launch and receive cleaning pigs and assist with the launch and receiving of smart pigs.
- Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment.
- Interface with various landowners including private, state, federal, etc.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- VoTech certificate or Associates degree or related work experience is a preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years stable work history, preferably in the energy industry.
- 2-4 years previous experience with the operation, maintenance, and/or construction of a crude oil pipeline facility and tank farm facilities preferred.
- High to medium electrical voltage is desired with an understanding of crude oil pipelines.
- Previous experience and knowledge of industry related maintenance and repair standards preferred.
- Knowledge of the general design and operation of a crude oil pipeline.
- Basic computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Possess a strong commitment to personal and job safety.
- Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of pumps, regulators, MOV's, electronic controls
- Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets, schematics and P&IDs.
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, decision making skills and strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently as well as maintain and promote good working relationships within a team environment.
