The Small Business Insurance Advisor creates and manages relationships with prospects and clients that result in a continuous flow of new business aligning with established business development goals. S/he successfully attains performance targets, including new business and client retention levels, which drive agency growth in small business product lines.
Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Creates and manages relationships with prospects and clients that result in a continuous flow of new business. Works to exceed business development goals through referrals from internal and external Centers of Influence.
2. Properly evaluates client needs, introduces internal experts as necessary, and ultimately delivers appropriate solutions within carrier appetites.
3. Successfully attains performance targets identified by management, including new business and client retention levels which drive agency growth in small business product lines.
4. Maintains consistent records of sales activities and customer contacts as requested by management and provides weekly sales reports according to established, agreed upon, sales activity goals.
5. Stays abreast of industry and relative changes and the potential effects to client interactions, strategic development, and overall job performance.
6. Analyzes existing insurance program and develops recommendations for coverage enhancements and risk reduction strategies that are appropriate.
7. Maintains a strong awareness of carrier appetites and underwriting standards.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
2. A minimum of three (3) years sales related experience preferred.
3. Must make positive first impressions, naturally create relationships, and demonstrate a proven track record of closing new business and exceeding sales targets. Effective presentation, communication, and organization skills as well as a high level of professionalism are required.
4. Current licenses for selling Property & Casualty Insurance are required.
5. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel on occasion required.
6. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
