Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Commodity Manager Indirect located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Commodity Management Indirect Director, Commodity Manage Indirect role involves being responsible for building internal relationships and developing indirect material sourcing and supply base strategies, participating in developing processes to effectively control spending in the Indirect Procurement commodities and scale to support anticipated growth along with the corporation. To standardize indirect commodities, development and management of supply chain relationships, and drive further site cost reductions across the Flex portfolio through Supply Chain consolidation and development of cost savings strategies.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Responsible for supporting indirect material sourcing and supply base management strategies and policies. Participate and provide direction in the development of preferred suppliers working closely with regional and global teams.
  • Work closely with regional and global teams to develop strategies that will drive synergy savings.
  • Implement and communicate strategic and preferred commodity plans designed to meet site performance goals.
  • Meet or exceed published cost reduction goals with agreed-to time frames, establish long-term relationships that benefit Flex worldwide.
  • Monitor current market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply-demand trends.
  • Work with site purchasing managers to develop the scope of work for services to optimize project costs by implementing approved quotation process.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex estimating and/or procurement assignments.
  • Work closely with regional teams and with site NPP and MRO teams to develop strategies that will drive synergies savings across the sites.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluent English.
  • Previous experience in material and manufacturing experience, including supervision.
  • Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site.
  • Must have a good knowledge of employment law and company practices, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Demonstrates experience in performance development, teaching/leading, mentoring and/or organization development. Instills appropriate behavior in others in support of Flex values.
  • Supports strategic direction for the function.
  • Previous experience using BAAN is also a plus.
