Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an EMI Architect – Power Electronics Core (m/f/d) located in Stuttgart, Germany.
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager - Power Electronics Core, the EMI Architect – Power Electronics Core (m/f/d) will be in charge of developing EMI filtering and compensating strategies for Core development of DC/DC converters and on-board chargers.
What a typical day looks like:
- System architecture review and definition of EMC compliance design strategy and proposal of EMC/EMI compliant HW solutions for Power Electronics (DC/DC Converter, OBC);
- System interference control design (grounding, shielding, filtering strategy
- Creating an EMC/EMI simulation strategy, simulation scenarios definition and performing selected circuit & electromagnetic simulations;
- EMC/EMI filter design, PCB stack-up and layout constraints definition;
- EMC/EMI test plan preparation and test execution and supervision;
- Participate in quote development, product architecture or technology development activities;
- Customer facing regarding EMC/EMI issues and requirements;
- Develop patents/trade secrets to protect the Flex's intellectual property;
- Ability to become a technical engineering lead for EMC group (involves 3 specialist departments: simulation, design and testing).
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering – Power Electronics with relevant professional experience in EMC;
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI standards and procedures preferably in the automotive industry;
- Experience in design of power electronics, active and passive component understanding;
- Schematic and PCB layout design and knowledge of PCB design software such as altium;
- Understanding of high frequency electronics;
- Component-level circuit simulation experience (PSPICE, MATLAB Simulink and similar);
- 2D PC-level or 3D electromagnetic simulation experience is of advantage (Ansys, CST, Q3D, HFSS);
- Experience in use of HV and HF laboratory and test equipment;
- Good teamplayer and communicator with fluent German and English knowledge both in written and spoken form.
