The Equipment Maintenance Engineer will be based in Columbia, SC, reporting to the Automation Manager. Typical responsibilities include;
Mechanical:  Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems and production machines and equipment.
Electrical:  Maintains and troubleshoots in-circuit and functional testers, associated test fixtures, stress chambers and chamber racks to ensure manufacturing test equipment is on-line.

**SHIFT: Sun-Thurs 11:00pm-7:00am (12.5%)**

What a typical day looks like:

• Design, engineer, and modify existing and new moderately-complex automation equipment, tooling and applications to automate manufacturing processes.
• Direct interface with customer and machine vendor for design improvements

• Support Production and ESC Maintenance as needed
• Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
• Understand the machine operating principle, Consequence of wear and tear parts and product Defects
• Review and evaluate equipment for PM optimization to include adding or modifying PM tasks.
• Should be willing to learn & enhance the skill in all type of Automation equipment.
• Should prepare why-why analysis & drive for permanent corrective actions.
• Should be able to give feedback to improve the design of process and equipment.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with other functional groups such as engineering and operations to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental function.
• Collaborates and offers input to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework and associated processes for new products.
• Identifies and drives change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.
• Demonstrates and understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions and ideas on how best to deliver automation solutions.
• Responsible for coordinating and providing training to new technicians on relevant new methods, equipment, and requirements.

The experience we're looking to add to our team

• Typically requires 5-8 years related experience
• Requires a Bachelor's degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and understand various types of equipment schematics.
• Electrical experience is a plus
• Previous experience with pneumatics
