Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Commodity Manager Distribution located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Director, Commodity Management Electrical, this role involves Support to Develop and implement the overall Distribution and commodity strategy and ensure the strategy is in line with corporate KPIs and overall profitability. To maintain strong relationships with the supply base in order to provide additional flexibility (material programs) and terms to Flex and its end customers.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Support to design & execute overall Distribution Strategy for Flex.
  • Manage Regional Teams and align and leverage Disty Strategies.
  • Drive Preferred Supplier List enabling Flex to meet cost and performance goals.
  • Develop and implement Procurement Plan with Commodity Mgmt Teams
  • Measure and report results based on commodity plans and metrics.
  • Project manage material margin activities globally for distribution
  • Drive projects that increase distribution penetration through non-psl distributor and non psl manufacturer conversion
  • Lead negotiation automation for distribution

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, electronics, mechatronics, or similar engineering.
  • Advanced procurement, material and manufacturing experience.
  • Advanced English
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost savings, and contract management.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Teamwork

  • Leadership skills.
  • Availability to travel
  • Demonstrates expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
