To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we're looking to add an Industrial Engineering Intern located in our Milpitas, CA site.

Reporting to the Industrial Engineering Manager, the student will support continuous improvement initiatives.  This role offers hands-on experience in process optimization, data analysis, and lean manufacturing principles.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Assist in analyzing and optimizing warehouse inventory processes, including evaluation of safety stock, maximum/minimum levels, and Days of Supply (DOS)
  • Support the development and maintenance of warehouse process documentation, including material flow diagrams, storage layouts, and updated warehouse drawings
  • Participate in warehouse layout optimization initiatives, including slotting strategies, return‑point evaluation, and enhancement of picking, kitting, and replenishment workflows
  • Develop and maintain Excel‑based tools and dashboards to support inventory tracking, KPI reporting, and capacity planning
  • Support ergonomic assessments, time studies, and workflow standardization related to warehouse and assembly operations
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting warehouse operational KPIs, including inventory accuracy, fulfillment cycle time, and material availability performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a warehouse environment managing inbound material, storage systems, product configuration, and outbound delivery to final customers
  • Develop standard work instructions and contribute to process documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, Logistics) to implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Support time studies, ergonomic assessments, and capacity planning
  • Assist in KPI tracking and reporting for operational performance

Student qualities we're seeking for this internship assignment:

  • Graduate student, currently pursuing Industrial Engineering MS degree, or related major
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of process mapping and value stream analysis
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., AutoCad, FlexSim)

Internship Program Requirements:

  • Available to start on May 26th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
  • Currently enrolled in accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
Pay Range (Applicable to California) $21.20 USD - $29.15 USD Hourly Job Category InternRelocation: Not eligible
