Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Logistics Manager to our Manufacturing Plant located in Alajuela (Saret Industrial Park).

The position reports directly to the General Manager.  The Logistics Manager role involves Ensures the implementation of strategies, including supply chain activities to ensure the logistics function achieves its operational and organizational targets to create and sustain value for the business and its customers.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Directs the daily activities of the distribution function, activities include shipping, receiving, inventory control, etc.
  • Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to selection rates, receiving rates and accounts for all labor hours. Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining goals.
  • Ensures contribution between relevant operational departments to ensure production schedules are expedited in a timely manner and that the planning team is helped with regard to work and material schedules.
  • Ensures that there is continuous improvement to standard logistics process, such as replenishment, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions and all are effectively implemented as appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives and resolve customer / operational issues.
  • Acts as escalation to senior management as appropriate.
  • Ensures the team is helped with regards to material requisitioning and production planning.
  • Maintains material availability to meet production schedules and/or to ensure products are shipped per customer requirements.
  • Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, and packaged according to specification.
  • Ensures provision of all planning related required reporting and present reports or information to senior management as required.
  • Contributes with department managers on planning related matters, to devise new strategies in relation to inventory management and distribution.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Administration or related
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in distribution and warehousing.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
