Job Summary

Responsible for the strategic management of a product line, focusing on the development and commercialization of advanced actuator solutions that optimize vehicle aerodynamics. Has a deep understanding of automotive engineering, embedded software, and market dynamics related to aerodynamic technologies. Drives product innovation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure offerings meet customer needs and industry standards.

What a typical day looks like:

Portfolio Strategy Development:

Develop and implement a strategic product portfolio plan (product roadmap) for adaptive aerodynamic actuators that aligns with market trends and company objectives.

Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new product development and enhancements.

Product Lifecycle Management:

Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept through development, launch, and post-launch evaluation, ensuring timely delivery and market readiness.

Manage the allocated engineering teams to define product specifications, performance criteria, and testing protocols.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Product Manager (technical) and AAD Sales Manager to create effective go-to-market strategies and promotional campaigns.

Facilitate communication between departments to ensure alignment on product goals, timelines, and customer requirements.

Customer Engagement:

Engage with automotive OEMs and other stakeholders to gather insights and feedback that inform product development and enhancements.

Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the benefits and capabilities of adaptive aerodynamic actuators.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage product budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.

Analyze product performance metrics and market trends to make informed decisions and adjustments to the product portfolio.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure all products comply with industry standards and regulations, particularly those related to automotive safety and performance.

Stay informed about emerging regulations and trends affecting the automotive and aerodynamic technology sectors.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management within the automotive industry, with a focus on actuators or aerodynamic technologies.
  • Strong understanding of embedded software applications in automotive systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing product portfolios and launching innovative products.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Good understanding of financial principles, cost drivers, and capital investments.
  • Demonstrated capabilities to providing business cases to justify future investments and priorities.
