Regional EHS Manager

The Regional Environment Health & Safety Manager will be based in Budapest reporting to the Regional EHS Director for EMEA.

In charge of providing immediate supervision to a group of employees for the implementation of complex activities related to the efficient management of Environmental Health & Safety programs in GSS (2) and manufacturing (5) sites to ensure that the required company and government regulations are met.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage, through subordinate leaders, the implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across Global Shared Services (GSS) and manufacturing sites, ensuring cost efficiency, optimized processes, and strong employee engagement. 
  • Promote corporate EHS objectives and sustainability strategies across sites to improve safety outcomes and advance environmental responsibility. 
  • Ensure adherence to local, regional, and corporate health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. 
  • Lead the development and delivery of EHS training, awareness, and engagement initiatives to cultivate a proactive safety and sustainability culture. 
  • Guide and mentor a team of local EHS professionals, fostering their development and ensuring high performance. 
  • Perform audits, inspections, and incident investigations related to EHS issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution of corrective actions. 
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and incident reports, identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing actionable solutions. 
  • Provide guidance to employees based on established policies, serve as a strategic EHS business partner to site leadership, and address challenges to meet operational timelines.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field
  • Proven track record in leading EH&S teams/organizations
  • Knowledge of related regulations, codes, and guidelines i.e. ISO 45001, ISO 14001 (RBA and ZWTL is a plus)
  • 5-10 years of managerial experience in manufacturing environment
  • Fluency in English and Hungarian (Italian is a plus)
  • Willingness to travel as regional travel can be expected as part of this role
