Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Test Engineer located in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer will be responsible for supporting Programming, MDA, Hi-POT, FCT testing focused on verifying and validating that a product, system or process works correctly, meets requirements and is reliable before being released.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Directs and/or coordinates inspection engineering and technical personnel in the setup, development, optimization, and sustainment of test processes, including Programming, MDA, Hi-POT, FCT, inspection systems.
  • Define what type of test applies depending on the product and stage: MDA (Manufacturing Defect Analyzer), ICT (Circuit Test), FCT (Functional Circuit Test)
  • Develop and validate: Test programs, Test sequences, Electrical and functional limits, configure test equipment (Takaya, TRI, Keysight, etc.), Validate: accessories (nail beds, probes, connectors) Pins, pressure, alignment and repeatability, perform pilot runs before acceleration, determine test coverage (components, networks, functions), balance cost vs coverage vs cycle time.
  • Provide daily support to the line when: There are failures in the tester, low occurs it produces, when there are test stoppages, adjust test limits to reduce: false failures, getaways
  • Analyze failures coming from MDA/ICT/Hi-Pot/FCT/Burn In/Vison Identify root cause: Defective component, Assembly error (soldering, polarity, missing) Design or tolerance issues, use tools like: Schematics, Oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, Collaborate with: Process engineering, Design engineering Quality and customer
  • Analyze key metrics such as: FPY (First Pass Yield), Performance per station, Top defects, generate technical and trend reports, Propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Continuous improvement of the testing process, optimize cycle time, Test coverage, Fixture stability Implement test hardware or software improvements, Standardize good practices between lines or products, Support line transfers or new products (NPI).
  • Documentation and control Create and maintain: Test plans, Work instructions, Release reports, change history (ECO/ECN), Ensure compliance with: IPC and customer requirements.
  • Training and communication: Test technicians, Line operators, give clear technical feedback to other teams, Participate in production and quality meetings.
  • Ensure sufficient test coverage for critical components: MOSFET, IGBT, Driver, Transformers, inductors AC/DC or DC/DC covers.
  • Development and validation of test systems Design and validate: Energized test benches, power accessories, security interlocks, Specify and configure: Programmable AC/DC sources, electronic loads Validate tests under real operating conditions: high current, High Voltage (LV/HV), Load variation.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Intermediate or advance English.
  • Experience in Test engineering within electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Programming, MDA, Hi-Pot, ICT, FCT, Vision inspection system and defect detection methodologies.
  • Instrumentation experience: Oscilloscope (safe power measurements), multimeter programmable fonts, electronic loads (Desirable) Power analyzer
  • Solid understanding of IPC standards and high-reliability product requirements.
  • Experience in data analysis, yield improvement, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in power electronics: AC/DC, DC/DC or Inverter Converters, Power components: MOSFET/IGBT, fast diodes, gate conductors, Transformers and inductors
  • Test automation experience LabVIEW.
  • Ability to train and support technical and production personnel.
