Description

We are seeking an Operations Manager to continue the work to maintain and build the Applied brand.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in leadership roles required.
  • Experience in a high mix / low volume manufacturing and assembly environment is preferred.

Expectations

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a workplace free from recognized hazards and ensure teams follow safety rules, procedures, and required training.
  • Ensure safety training is delivered in a language/vocabulary employees can understand; reinforce safe work practices through daily floor presence.
  • Lead incident reporting, investigation support, and timely closure of corrective actions; maintain inspection/audit readiness.

Manufacturing & Assembly Leadership

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate production resources to meet cost, quality, and output needs; manage priorities in a high-mix environment.
  • Decide how best to use workers and equipment to meet production goals; manage constraints and adjust plans to protect customer commitments.
  • Keep production on schedule and within budget; identify needs for overtime, staffing changes, or process adjustments and act quickly.
  • Lead supervisors to execute consistent daily standard work and maintain stable performance across 1st and 2nd shifts.

Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Control

  • Oversee receiving, storage, internal movement of raw/WIP/finished goods, picking, staging, and shipping to support production flow and on-time delivery.
  • Supervise receiving/storing/shipping activity and ensure warehouse safety/security programs are implemented and sustained.
  • Partner with supervisors to integrate logistics and operational activity with internal systems/processes (ERP transactions, order management, shipment execution).

Quality Leadership

  • Ensure product standards are met; support effective containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Establish an operating culture where quality issues are surfaced early and corrected at the source.

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Coordinate maintenance priorities to support uptime and schedule reliability; ensure timely response to downtime and recurring issues.
  • Promote preventive thinking: capture chronic losses and drive actions that prevent repeat failures.

Performance Management, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain KPI visibility and run a daily/weekly rhythm that exposes misses early and drives closure (delivery, labor, productivity, scrap/rework, inventory accuracy).
  • Review performance data to identify productivity gaps and cost reduction opportunities; drive structured improvement work.
  • Provide operational reporting to the GM aligned to corporate cadence; ensure data integrity and clear narrative on actions and risks.

People Leadership, Staffing & Capability Building

  • Lead through supervisors: coach performance, set clear expectations, build accountability, and develop next-level leaders.
  • Own hiring recommendations and staffing plans through established business process; partner with GM/HR to close labor gaps affecting delivery.
  • Establish training and cross-training to improve labor flexibility and reduce schedule risk.

Compensation

  • $90k - $120k depending on experience and education.
