Description

How would you like to be a part of the nationwide law enforcement initiative that removes the tools of crime from criminal organizations, depriving wrongdoers of proceeds from their crime and impacting the infrastructure of criminal enterprises? At FSA Federal (FSA), we are focused on delivering unsurpassed services in support of law enforcement and homeland security. We have a potential vacancy for an Asset Investigator, Financial Litigation Unit (FLU) supporting the US Attorney's Office (USAO).

The FLU is responsible for enforcing and collecting all debts owed to the United States in its respective district. The mission of the FLU is to maximize recovery of all debts in the most cost-effective manner and in accordance with the laws of the United States. The FLU at present consists of an attorney, supervisor, paralegal and collection agents. The victims of federal crimes are entitled to full and timely restitution and depend upon the FLU to bridge the gap between obtaining a restitution judgment and collection of restitution. With the assistance of the Asset Investigator, the FLU will be able to review each case more effectively and efficiently and increase collection efforts for victims.

The USAO serves as the nation's principal litigators under the direction of the Attorney General. The Asset Forfeiture Section at the USAO is responsible for the prosecution of both criminal and civil actions against property used or acquired during illegal activity.
