Position Summary 

  • The Post Secondary Program Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and growth of Fusion Academy's Post Secondary program. This leader oversees a large, distributed team and ensures the program delivers a high-quality, student-centered experience while meeting revenue, budget, and performance goals. 
  • This role combines people leadership, program strategy, financial accountability, and business development. The Director leads a team of 30+ counselors and 3 administrators, drives stakeholder satisfaction, and builds a culture grounded in Fusion's values, growth mindset, and commitment to individualized support. 
  • Approximately 25% of this role is focused on external growth, including outreach, relationship-building, and the development of strategic plans that expand the program's reach and impact.

Key Responsibilities 

 

Strategic Leadership and Program Direction 

  • Lead the overall vision, strategy, and execution of the Post Secondary program across Fusion Academy. 
  • Ensure the program remains aligned with Fusion's mission, educational philosophy, and commitment to personalized student support. 
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term program goals that support quality, sustainability, and growth. 
  • Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for innovation, refinement, and expansion. 
  • Champion a growth-oriented, solutions-focused culture that reflects the Fusion mindset. 

Team Leadership and Talent Development 

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for a team of 30+ counselors and 3 administrators. 
  • Build a high-performing team culture centered on collaboration, service, ownership, and continuous improvement. 
  • Supervise hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and professional development for team members. 
  • Create clear expectations, workflows, and communication structures that support consistency and excellence across the program. 
  • Support leaders and staff in navigating change, solving problems, and maintaining strong student and family relationships. 

Financial and Business Ownership 

  • Hold revenue and budget responsibility for the Post Secondary program, including planning, forecasting, and performance tracking. 
  • Manage the program as a business line with clear attention to growth, profitability, and operational health. 
  • Analyze revenue trends, enrollment patterns, service utilization, and market opportunities to inform decisions. 
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase program participation and strengthen overall financial performance. 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure strong budget stewardship and responsible resource allocation. 

External Growth and Outreach 

  • Dedicate approximately 25% of the role to external growth initiatives and strategic expansion efforts. 
  • Create and lead a growth plan that increases awareness, demand, and enrollment in the Post Secondary program. 
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen referrals, partnerships, and program visibility. 
  • Identify market needs, emerging opportunities, and new ways to position the program competitively. 
  • Support outreach efforts through presentations, consultative conversations, relationship development, and strategic communication. 

Stakeholder Experience and Satisfaction 

  • Ensure a high-quality experience for students, families, school teams, and other key stakeholders. 
  • Monitor satisfaction, gather feedback, and respond proactively to concerns, opportunities, and trends. 
  • Build trust and credibility through strong communication, responsiveness, and service-minded leadership. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with school and organizational leaders to ensure alignment, consistency, and stakeholder confidence. 
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering value while preserving the personalized, supportive feel of the Fusion experience. 

Operational Excellence 

  • Oversee systems, processes, and program operations that support effective service delivery at scale. 
  • Ensure consistency in program implementation, documentation, communication, and quality standards. 
  • Use data and performance metrics to assess outcomes, improve workflows, and support decision-making. 
  • Lead program planning and execution with strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability. 
  • Balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational leadership. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. 
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in education, program management, student services, counseling operations, or a related field. 
  • Experience leading large teams and managing multiple layers of staff. 
  • Demonstrated success with revenue ownership, budget management, or P&L responsibility. 
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate vision into action and measurable results. 
  • Experience driving growth through outreach, partnerships, business development, or market expansion strongly preferred. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Strong operational and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complexity across people, systems, and priorities. 
  • Experience in post secondary counseling, college counseling, college access, career planning, or related areas is helpful but not required. 
  • Deep commitment to student-centered service, stakeholder satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Pay Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
