Fusion Academy is the school that changes everything! We are a fully accredited 1-to-1 private school for grades 5–12. Our Fusion Academy Substitute Center has an immediate opening for a Teacher. While working remotely, the teacher in this role provides a student-centered, supportive classroom via Zoom that promotes compassion and acceptance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach. Our substitutes take short-term and long-term assignments, sometimes covering a single hour of instruction and/or serving as a teacher of record for varying lengths of time.    

What You'll Do & What We're Looking For:   

• Deliver instruction in a truly personalized way by adapting lessons and assessments to meet each learner's needs.  

• Mentor each student and support their social-emotional growth.  

• Keep consistent and thorough record-keeping in our learning management and student information systems. 

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or a teaching credential is a plus.  

• Ability and willingness to substitute a wide range of courses, following content standards — curriculum and resources provided.   

• Experience working with students, including those with learning differences, neurodiversity, accelerated learning needs, and/or mental health challenges.  

• Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning.  

• Outgoing, adaptable, and eager to thrive in a dynamic, student-centered environment.  

• Skilled with technology, curious about innovation, and open to learning new tools.  

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  

• A growth mindset with the flexibility to pivot and problem-solve as needed, including constructing new lesson plans from a bank of provided resources and assignments when needed.
