We currently have growth opportunities to work as a board-certified/board-eligible Physiatrist joining a multidisciplinary team including neurologists, orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons as well as most subspecialties in three of our regions – Scranton, Danville, and State College, PA.

Job Duties

The PM&R Department resides within the nationally recognized Geisinger Musculoskeletal Institute:

  • Home to the leading academic Level I tertiary referral center with over 50 fellowship-trained specialists
  • Consists of seven PM&R specialists which has doubled in size since 2017 to match the growing community needs
  • Residency awarded 10-year accreditation during initial site visit in 2020
  • Participate in cutting edge research including exoskeleton and virtual reality in rehabilitation efforts that support the vision of the Musculoskeletal Institute

Position Details

Geisinger Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Scranton allows patients of all ages to find the most comprehensive spectrum of services for bone, muscle and joint conditions — including arthritis, sports injuries, back pain, wound care and fractures — in Lackawanna County. With a focus on convenience and patient experience, the facility will offer expanded orthopaedic urgent care so patients can avoid the emergency room for sprains, strains and minor injuries.

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children's Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region's only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women's health (in the Women's Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics

Geisinger Healthplex State College, located on 52 acres off the I-99 interchange in Patton Township. First opened in August of 2008 as a multi-specialty clinic, the facility is now doubled in size to 144,000 square feet, thanks to the recent completion of a year-long construction effort. Our staff members focus on delivering the best quality of care to the members of Centre County. With specialty supports like Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the staff provides the highest-level expertise for your physicals, sick visits and follow-up care after illness or injury.
