The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management within the School of Education at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term faculty member at the rank of Lecturer-AT to teach undergraduate courses within the Kinesiology program.  Possible teaching assignments may include but are not limited to: Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Prescription, Exercise and Special Populations, Structural Kinesiology, Exercise and Sport Nutrition, Exercise Testing/Lab, Anatomy and Physiology/Lab, Motor Learning and Development, Kinesiology Capstone, Introduction to Kinesiology and Sport Management.  Advising of students and participating in department work and meetings, as well as School of Education meetings and committee work is part of the role of this position.  Interested candidates will be joining a supportive faculty focused on student development and learning. We seek a candidate who will work to prepare socially responsible and discerning practitioners to serve their community and profession. Essential Functions

  • Teach the equivalent of 24 semester credits over the course of the academic year
  • Collaborate with department and School of Education colleagues
  • Advise students within the Kinesiology program, as needed


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or a closely related field
    • ABD may be considered, with the expectation that the candidate will have their degree in hand by July 15, 2024
  • Completed graduate coursework within the following areas: Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Exercise Physiology, Special Populations, Biomechanics


Desired Qualifications

  • ACSM Exercise Physiologist Certification and/or NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification 
  • Teaching experience in higher education/evidence of teaching excellence
  • Experience working in laboratory settings 


Hiring Salary

$67,161 – $71,638
