Description

The Manager, Financial Analysis will help drive analytics to support various businesses within the company, utilizing strong financial modeling and financial analysis experience. This position calls for a self-starter with genuine investigative talents, who has strong business acumen and analysis experience to allow for a variety of analytical inquiries across departments. This position will work directly with functional area leadership across the business in order to assist in analyzing financial and operational results. They will provide a high level of guidance to drive improvements. In addition, this role will support a system implementation for financial planning software (Oracle EPM) and will require strong knowledge of FP&A processes. This position reports to the Sr. Director of FP&A with the potential to build a team in the future.

The Manager, Financial Analysis is a proactive, collaborative, and dynamic leader who is a nimble and quantitative thinker with a record of achieving results individually and through others. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires the Manager to make significant contributions to the success of Harbor Freight by enabling better decision making in a timely manner that will drive overall performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver insightful variance analyses to fully understand the drivers of business performance and to identify potential issues and opportunities. Effectively communicate this information to senior management to ensure attainment of business goals      
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales expenses, and capital expenditures
  • Active in the development of new analyses and actionable reporting     
  • Assess current processes/tools and identify improvement opportunities           
  • Dissect business issues, analyze root - causes and provide possible solutions in a simple yet compelling manner to internal customers and upper management        
  • Drive data analysis and reporting related to budgets and spending for increasing optimization and performance improvement, including Return on Investment (ROI) analysis             
  • Develop structures, processes (and models) around vague business case questions
  • Refine, update, execute on our existing analytical reporting to ensure we are fully answering inquiries from senior leadership      
  • Drive the application of analytic methodologies to business operations data to provide business intelligence for enterprise performance analysis

Determines appropriate financial modeling methodologies, assumptions, and analytical approaches to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning.

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, or similar quantitative field
  • Preferred Graduate Degree: MBA

Years of Experience
Minimum Years of Experience: 4 In analytical and strategic roles

Physical Requirements
