Description
The Process Improvement Senior Analyst supports the design, planning, and execution of improvements to systems and processes that improve retail operations, with a focus on data collection and translation into actionable insights. This position will also serve as a resource on cross-functional initiatives to ensure impact to store operations is defined and measured, as well as ensuring implementation is supported. The Process Improvement Sr. Analyst will support all aspects of key projects and initiatives which will contribute to the continued growth of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Co-lead the design of solutions and/or collect business requirements that solve operational problems or improve current processes in stores and customer contact centers.
- Conduct business analysis using internal data as well as external sources to design solutions, establish and track project budgets and measure the effectiveness of both current operations and potential future processes.
- Serve as the voice of retail operations in cross-functional projects involving the design, configuration, deployment and testing of diverse initiatives across all areas of the business: Loss Prevention, Merchandising, HR, IT, Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain and more.
- Proactively provide detailed, organized, and comprehensive updates to maintain project plans to ensure that projects are achieved on time, with superior adoption, and in line with budgetary guidelines.
- Support and manage projects through all aspects of the project lifecycle, including the testing and transition to production.
- Prepare and deliver weekly project status updates in various formats, including verbal, written, presentation, etc.
- Act as a subject matter expert for operational processes, to support other departments as a resource, including Training, Communication and Support.
- Designs and oversees the execution of rigorous system testing plans in partnership with the Store Systems Specialist, IT Quality Assurance, participating pilot stores and Field Leadership.

Requirements
Education and Experience
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel & PowerPoint and inclusive of SmartSheets
- Experience with data and statistical analysis
- Preferred Skill: Experience with data retrieval, manipulation, and processing in relational databases (ex. SQL, Python, Databricks, etc.)
- Problem Solving: Identifies effective and efficient solutions for complex problems. Looks beyond the obvious and collects and interprets data alongside critical thinking to drive for superior results.
- Analytical Ability: Able to quickly learn Harbor Freight Tools databases and determine what data to retrieve to reach necessary conclusions. Able to then evaluate diverse data sets (financial results, operational and other metrics, survey feedback, etc.) and determine cause/effect relationships. Able to isolate key information and determine the impact of process or procedure changes.
- Business Acumen: Able to quickly learn the principal aspects of Harbor Freight Tools business model and operational processes, and how they affect retail operations. Understands both the vision and executional-level detail of business practices, trends, and policies.

- Preferred Experience: Software implementation, operational process improvement, instructional design/communication and/or financial analysis experience is a plus.
