Description

The Senior Recruiter operates as a People Leader, reviewing and approving the work and/or supervising the work of assigned sourcing specialists. The Senior Recruiter will guide associates towards achieving goals, promote a Great Place to Work culture, and cultivate an atmosphere of collaboration. The Sr. Recruiter is a collaborative team player who works closely with internal and external customers/candidates to recruit top talent for HFT. The Sr. Recruiter will be responsible for bringing extraordinary Leadership talent into the business. The Sr. Recruiter will view each opening as an opportunity to enrich HFT by personifying our core values while matching great talent with the right opportunity. They will contribute to the success of HFT by supplying the business with a diverse and qualified talent pool for Leadership positions. The Sr. Recruiter will also provide strategic support by leading projects on the TA team. As a member of the Talent Acquisition team, you will be a brand ambassador to both candidates and Harbor Freight Tools associates.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of sourcing specialists who aid in identifying supplemental leads for open positions ads for open positions            
  • Develop and execute staffing plans for the sourcing team to ensure both internal and external pipeline of highly qualified and diverse candidates        
  • Leads intake meetings when leadership openings arise with the Hiring managers to understand culture, skills and team fit desired for each opening            
  • Actively source candidates leveraging social media platforms, job boards, data mining techniques, job fairs, referrals, networking channels and creative sourcing techniques           
  • Maintain relationships with candidates to encourage continued interest in opportunities with the HFT brand       
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross functional partners   
  • Prepare recruiting reports and presentations to show progress and effectiveness of recruiting initiatives        
  • Collaborate with all HFT teams on projects and creative recruiting initiatives           
  • Drive continuous process improvements in a rapidly growing and changing business environment
  • Promote HFT as the employer of choice to all potential candidates by providing information regarding the company culture, benefits and opportunity

Scope
  • Staff supervision and development:  Yes
  • Decision making: 
  • Responsible for reviewing and validating the business value being added by the sourcing team
  • Weekly management of day to day operations of souring team including but not limited to; approving timecards, reviewing and coordinating coverage for time off requests, reviewing associates development plan and offering mentoring.
  • Travel:  Up to 25%
  • Flex Designation:  Anywhere within the continental U.S.


Requirements

Education and Experience
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
Years of Experience
  • Full cycle recruiting, experience in the retail industry a plus
  • 2 years successful leadership experience required
Skills
  • Leadership skills and effective analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills are essential
  • A strong understanding of the full-cycle recruiting process and ability to recruit at all profession levels of the organization from entry level to leadership positions is required
  • Strong professional maturity and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of employment laws and recruiting concepts, policies, practices and procedures
  • Ability to lead and mentor entry to mid level staff
  • Experience with various applicant tracking systems, preferred experience with BrassRing
  • Proven success sourcing candidates using variety of methods (social recruiting, events, military, alumni databases, college partnerships and professional networks)
  • Ability to generate a high volume/high quality pipeline of candidates under tight timelines
  • Ability to manage a high volume recruiting workload, along with other priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and strong negotiation skills
  • Must have strong planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to think creatively to develop innovative recruitment strategies
  • Professional presence, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined, able to work independently
  • Excellent listening and assessment skills
  • Ability to work with all professionals at different levels of the organization
  • Experience managing relationships with multiple leaders and candidates in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Experience researching markets and compensation to drive recruiting process
Physical Requirements
General office environment requiring ability to:
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time .
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports.
  • The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
