This position is pivotal in spearheading the development, optimization, and governance of the organization's comprehensive data and analytics platforms. By aligning with the organization's strategic objectives, this role ensures seamless access to high-quality data and analytic solutions across all business units, thereby driving informed decision-making and operational excellence. The platforms under this role's purview serve a broad audience of approximately 2,000 individuals within the HCSC data community. The scope of responsibility encompasses a diverse array of platforms, including data and integration platforms, data virtualization platforms, business intelligence (BI) platforms, model operations, and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms.

Strategy Responsibilities:

  • Develop a cross-platform strategy and conduct capacity planning with input from business product owners to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide critical input on business needs, such as platform growth, demand, costs, and usage patterns, to inform the platform product roadmap.
  • Oversee the budget, performance metrics, platform roadmaps, and stakeholder communications for the respective platforms, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
  • Take responsibility for proactive technology lifecycle management (TLM) of data platform components to guarantee reliable operations and optimal performance.
  • Manage key platform vendor relationships, including contracts and license management, to ensure effective partnerships and compliance.
  • Advocate for the proper use of the platform(s) by coaching teams on effective usage, promoting best practices, and ensuring adherence to standard platform usage patterns and guidelines.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitor advancements in data and analytics platforms to maintain a competitive edge and drive innovation

Core Technical, Operational and Delivery Responsibilities:

  • Manage, track, and communicate key financial metrics for the platform, including potential chargebacks to customers, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Maintain relationship with Data Org. users to understand, predict, and manage platform demand as the key consumer face-off (e.g., fielding requests for new licenses)
  • Identify capacity needs and forecast demand based on customer needs and projects, aiming to project over the next 2-3 years.
  • Partner with Architecture and Engineering teams to design the platform usage patterns and orchestrate delivery across go-forward and legacy platform
  • Coordinate upgrades and patch execution; communicate changes to impacted stakeholders / customers
  • Provide input into SLAs and provide final sign-off for new contracts for their platform
  • Ensure platform owners perform platform-level User Acceptance Testing
  • Ensure platform owners resolve Data Org. related P1 / P2 issues for their platform (triaging to technical product managers and providing visibility for problems)
  • Perform run oversight to ensure platforms are being used as intended (e.g., ensuring requested capacity is used as intended, using Dashboarding)

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field and 12 years of data and analytics experience OR 16 years of data and analytics experience
  • 5 years of management or leadership experience
  • Knowledge of data and analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, on-prem and Azure-based Data Platforms (i.e. Databricks, MSFT Fabric, etc.)

Compensation: $143,800.00 - $267,100.00
