POSITION SUMMARY:
To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: accurately administering radiotherapy to the patient for the purpose of curative or palliative treatment in collaboration with the health care team.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Quality/No Harm:
- Provides accurate and timely radiotherapy consistent with the prescribing physicians prescription and treatment goals as well as with professional standards and documents in the chart according to the departmental standards, as demonstrated by chart review.
- Provides accurate and complete data on all portal images as demonstrated on subsequent weekly chart review.
Customer Experience:
- As a member of the Radiation Oncology team, completes all quality assurance assignments and other assignments related to the regulatory compliance ( Federal, State, ACR, OSHA, FDA, etc.) accurately, completely and on time as demonstrated by routine documentation.
Stewardship:
- Provide accurate simulation utilizing proper positioning and technique, ensure complete documentation of all data, as reported on Simulation Images, QA and the Initial Chart Review.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy.
- Current Florida State Licensed Radiation Therapist.
- ARRT or registry eligible as a Radiation Therapist.
- Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
- Demonstrates the ability to relate well to all customers and staff.
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to adapt to a combination of walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting throughout the work day.
- Ability to move, lift or position patients to achieve the require position.
- Ability to push wheelchair or stretcher bound patients.
- Visual acuity and hand – eye coordination to perform technical and clinical tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 4o pounds unassisted, several times daily.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Ability to respond to life threatening situations.
- Ability to assess, interpret data and educate patients and family members of various ages and levels of understanding.
- Ability to work with and share knowledge with students and associates.
- Ability to be flexible in order to accommodate variation of work schedule and job assignment.
