The Nursing Clinical Coordinator for Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology (IR) Special#Procedures is responsible for assisting the Director of Perioperative Services with clinical/ operational#oversight, ensuring high-quality patient care, and supporting staff within the procedural areas. This role#combines clinical expertise, leadership, and coordination to optimize patient outcomes, workflow#efficiency, and regulatory compliance across diagnostic cardiovascular and IR services. 1. To assist with recruiting, interviewing, and selecting clinical staff. 2. To monitor performance of staff to ensure adherence to Hospital and departmental policies and#procedures and take appropriate action when necessary. 3. To serve as liaison between clinical staff and Nursing management relative to unit operations. 4. To assist in development of policies, procedures, and standards of care and ensure that staff are#informed of updates and changes in a timely manner. 5. To participate on Nursing Division and Hospital committees. 6. To work with the Periop Nurse Educator to delineate needed knowledge and skills sets and#competencies for staff in the Cardiac Cath Lab/ IR Special Procedures, and to ensure that staff#maintains and improves competencies required for cardiac catheterizations and the procedures#performed by the IR nurses. Also to ensure staff are cross-trained for all positions in the#department 7. To maintain proper controls on usage of supplies and equipment. Qualifications/Job Requisites â— Education:#Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN or ASN required# â— Licenses/Registrations:#Current license within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a#Registered Nurse, ACLS, BLS. â— Ability to pass the HMC Moderate Sedation competency exam. â— Experience: Five years of experience in Cardiac Cath/ IR Special Procedures nursing; some#supervisory experience desirable
