Valley Health Systems, Inc., the parent company of Holyoke Medical Center and Holyoke Medical Group, provides a broad range of physician services in offices conveniently located throughout Western Massachusetts. Services include specialty practices, adult primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, and walk-in care. POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Primary Care Practices to provide strategic and operational leadership across our primary care physician practices. The Director will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional patient care, managing practice staff, and driving performance and growth initiatives. This is a highly visible leadership role that requires a strong blend of clinical knowledge, business acumen, and interpersonal skills and will function as a resource to Practice Managers, clinical and non-clinical office staff, and will ensure, through regularly scheduled office visits, that the operational goals for each office are being met. Reports to: Vice President # Ambulatory Operations KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide strategic and operational oversight of all primary care practices, ensuring alignment with the organization#s mission, goals, and regulatory standards Lead, mentor, and develop practice managers and administrative staff to foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture Monitor and analyze key performance indicators including patient satisfaction, productivity, quality metrics, and financial performance Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical leadership to ensure seamless delivery of patient-centered care Manage budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation across all practice locations Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures Drive quality improvement initiatives and implement best practices to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, insurers, and hospital leadership Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations within the primary care practices. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor#s degree in Business, Master#s preferred; at least five years of physician practice management experience Demonstrated experience managing multiple practice locations and interdisciplinary teams Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, billing practices, and compliance requirements Proficiency with electronic health record systems; Epic experience preferred Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and engage diverse teams. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate#s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.
