Note: The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate#s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care.# Our Orthopedics Practice is seeking an Office Assistant to coordinate and perform#all administrative functions to ensure the efficient daily operation of the office, providing comprehensive support to providers and staff including managing patient scheduling, registration, billing, customer service, and general administrative duties while maintaining accurate records and delivering exceptional patient service. Overview of responsibilities include but are not limited to: Greet and check in patients, providing excellent customer service and assistance with registration. Verify and update patient demographics, insurance eligibility, referrals, and medical records in the EMR. Collect co-pays, process payments, and maintain accurate patient account documentation. Complete patient check-out, schedule follow-up appointments, coordinate diagnostic testing, and provide discharge materials. Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and communicate messages professionally using established service standards. Process physician orders, referrals, prior authorizations, and related documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain accurate electronic medical records by scanning documents, updating information, and managing work lists and correspondence. Monitor appointment schedules, reminder calls, cancellations, no-shows, and scheduling reports to maximize patient access. Support daily office operations by managing mail, faxes, supplies, forms, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. Collaborate with providers, internal departments, and external offices while performing additional administrative duties and cross-coverage as assigned. Qualifications: Education: High School Graduate or GED Experience: Two years# experience in a physician#s office or similar environment; experience in Spanish/English medical/health interpreting preferred; experience working with third party payors and working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes# Special Aptitudes # Activities: Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills with strong attention to detail. Proficient in computer applications, typing, transcription, and filing, with the ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
