We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care.# Our Urology Surgery Office#is seeking an experienced Surgical Scheduler to coordinate and carry out all surgical scheduling functions#and to support the office assistants by providing customer service and performing general administrative tasks as needed. Overview of responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinate and manage all surgical scheduling activities, ensuring accurate patient demographics and alignment with the Meditech system Collaborate with OR schedulers to optimize case sequencing and maximize surgeon productivity Maintain up-to-date surgical schedules and promptly communicate last-minute changes to providers and staff Ensure all necessary surgical resources (e.g., implants, equipment) are arranged and available in advance Obtain insurance prior authorizations and verify coverage for surgical procedures and related services Prepare and distribute required documentation, including admission forms, consent forms, and pre-admission testing appointments Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care, providing clear instructions and support Coordinate medical clearances, referrals, and communication with primary care and specialty providers Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and order entry Perform daily administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, scanning documents, and managing office supplies Qualifications: Education:#High school graduate; two years of experience in a physician#s office or similar environment Licenses/Registrations: Certification as a Clinical MA preferred Experience:#Two years experience in a physician#s office or similar environment; experience in Spanish/English medical/health interpreting preferred; experience working with third party payers and working knowledge of ICD-10#and HCPC coding relative to#urology surgery preferred Special Aptitudes # Activities:#Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in typing, transcription, and filing. The role requires the ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions, maintain strong organizational skills, and demonstrate close attention to detail. Candidates should be comfortable using computers and relevant software systems, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, and possess a solid understanding of medical terminology.
