Description
The Per#Diem Administrative Assistant supports both patient intake and revenue cycle operations to#ensure timely access to care and accurate reimbursement. This role coordinates referrals, verifies#insurance and authorizations, processes claims, and serves as a key point of communication between referral sources, clinical teams, and payers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented,#customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a regulated healthcare environment. Responsibilities: â— Process home health and hospice referrals, ensuring complete and accurate patient information,#diagnoses, and physician orders â— Assess referral information to determine service appropriateness and payer eligibility â— Enter and maintain patient, referral, and order data in the electronic medical record (EMR) â— Coordinate with clinical operations to support timely scheduling of initial assessments â— Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations for new and active patients â— Prepare, submit, and monitor claims for timely acceptance and payment â— Post payments and remittances and follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims â— Prepare and submit appeals as needed and maintain documentation on claim status â— Maintain working knowledge of payer guidelines and reimbursement requirements â— Communicate professionally with referral sources, providers, payers, and internal teams
