Description

Under the direction of the Cost Accounting Manager, performs month end close, accounting reconciliations and profit and loss statements as well as detailed financial planning and analysis of operations to facilitate management decision making.  Participates in formulation of financial plans and forecasts, assists in the standards development process, tracks operational results, and prepares management reports to assist in the achievement of financial and operational goals.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·       Providing quality financial analysis to operational and financial managers based on a thorough understanding of each of our business segments to ensure management has information and understanding needed to make effective business decisions.

·       Monitor plant operating financial status against plans and updates to identify and resolve variances.

·       Compiles information and coordinates creation of annual financial plan and forecasts.

·       Assist in development of product cost standards.

·       Overall understanding of basic Accounting functions, month end close, account reconciliations, subledger reports, reserves analysis, balance sheet and profit and loss statements

·       Assisting the accounting team with the monthly close and financial audit.

·       Working closely with the operations team to provide meaningful systems reviews and financial analysis of the business.

·       Compiling and maintaining real time, weekly/monthly operational metrics to the business unit managers to ensure each business unit is updated on company performance and progress to goals.

·       Ensure compliance with all internal and external financial standards.

·       Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

 

Knowledge & Skills

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).

·       Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

·       Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

·       Ability to thrive working under deadlines and toward specific goals.

·       Ability to work independently and cohesively with others.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

·       Must be at least 18 years of age

·       Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required

·       Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.

·       Manufacturing experience is a plus.

 

Work Environment

·       This is largely a sedentary role.

·       This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

·       Work in team oriented, fast-paced, challenging office environment.

·       Extended hours at night or weekends may be necessary during peak processing times.

·       Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
