Engineering Technician – Product

FLSA Status

Shift:
Monday thru Friday

Position Summary
The Product Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting product and production related activities. The key responsibility of this position is to support efforts to develop and implement test methods for product testing, train personnel for testing product to ensure product quality and compliance with standards. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•    Assist engineers with creating and testing products, improving manufacturing methods and maintaining assembly and test systems.
•    Develop robust and repeatable test methods and setups for engineering evaluations and product specification testing while working in conjunction with Engineering and Validation group.
•    Design/Modify test fixtures, communicate with machine shop to make and modify fixtures.
•    Read schematics, assembly drawings, and procedures to perform testing and troubleshoot equipment.
•    Train personnel to test methods.
•    Participate in root cause investigations: go-and-see, take pictures, testing samples, data collection and interpretation of results.
•    Technical report authoring.
•    Write test cases and standardized work documents.
•    Work on special assignments as they arise for production support.
•    Support Project timelines and milestones and bring them to completion on time.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
•    General understanding part assembly, fixturing, testing, and interpretation of results.
•    High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Able to work on different activities in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
•    Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
•    Solidworks proficiency preferred. 

Education and Experience 
•    High School diploma, Associate's degree from an accredited college is preferred.
•    Experience with measurement tools, gauges (force, torque, go –no-go etc.), Instron experience preferred. 
•    Training will be provided as needed for the right candidate.

Travel Requirements
•    Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
•    Work may be performed in a clean room environment
•    Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
•    May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
