Description

Responsible for providing directions to one or more Forklift Operators, training, assigning work, and resolving problems within area of responsibility. Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as standup, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment.


 



  • Supports and trains have newly hired forklift operators within their area of responsibility.

  • Assist supervisors and management of the facility in planning, assigning, and directing work

  • Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial

  • Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. On a

  • daily basis, inspect assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient

  • manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.

  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store products in the appropriate areas.
    Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.
    Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.

  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.

  • Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.

  • Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service.

  • Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process.

  • Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and reports unsafe conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team.

  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.

  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Starting rate: $23 per hour based on experience.



Qualifications

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Forklift Operator with rail-specific experience.
Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment
(e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policy
Experienced in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
