Intelsat US LLC seeks a Sr. Principal Terminal Development & Design Engineer in McLean, VA.

Duties: Define and develop a range of user terminals to support new / enhanced Managed Service Products, maximizing value though realization of cross-BU synergies. Work closely with our Innovations team to develop user terminal solutions that address customer and sector needs, supporting terminal roadmap to align with technology deliverables. Coordinate with Technical Product Managers to translate pain points and needs into defined features and capabilities that form terminal development programs. Work closely with Innovations to evaluate and demo technology solutions, developing and evolving terminal designs from prototypes to Production terminals. Support the delivery of terminal outcomes, solutions and commitments on behalf of Product Development. Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders including CX team, Systems Engineering/Architecture to develop and implement the Terminal Product roadmap, supporting new Terminal Product concepts, value proposition design, positioning and go-to-market strategies.

Requirements: Position Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering or a related field plus 10 years of experience of related experience. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering or a related field plus 8 years of related experience.

Requires 8 years of experience in the following: Managing satellite communication systems, satellite terminal systems, or satellite-based networking; data systems; baseband, IF, RF, antennas, and WAN/LAN equipment; Routing protocols and VoIP; Satellite Communications Baseband and Network Management; maintaining high availability satellite or telecommunications systems; GEO telecommunications satellite technologies and systems; and internet-based network connectivity principles and implementation.

Requires 4 years of terminal development and design experience, including: Satcom RF terminal development; design experience, including traditional Parabolic reflectors Arrays, ESA and low SWaP as well as production terminal build and deployment; working with terminal technology subsystems and components; evaluating terminal technologies within both a lab environment and in the field; working within the standards and regulations that impact terminal design (such as FCC and ITU); experience optimizing terminal functioning to deliver target customer experience as part of end-to-end system; and experience working with satellite and terrestrial networks and technologies. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
