Certification Manager – Arlington Heights (hybrid)

What are we looking for?

The position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Certification Schemes within the Building & Construction Business Line and the functions/team that support them. Specifically, this includes supervision of the Help Desk, Report Review, Label Approvals/order fulfilment, and Listing Validation/Directory Entry functions, Industry Programs, quality audits, P&L management and Teams. 

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $140,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Oversee the Certification staff Certification Department 
  • Oversee the Industry Association Programs staff and liaise with associations
  • Work on aligning all the certification and Industry programs into common practices
  • Work closely with Operations and Sales globally in ensure proper program procedures are being followed
  • Instills efficiency processes into group though the use of new technology
  • Ensure good customer experience through the administration of Certification (internal and external customers)
  • Development of key metrics and actions needed to meet strategic processing goals
  • Ensure Certification meets the requirements of Intertek's Accreditors
  • Develop new programs
  • Manage quality audits
  • Meet financial targets, liaise with billing/collection teams
  • Perform other duties as required.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, or the equivalent in terms of education, experience and training
  • 10+ years directly related experience in an ISO 17065 accredited certification body, including 7 years of management experience
  • Prior certification experience, including electrical, gas, sanitation and building products 
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities
