FINANCE / COLLECTION MANAGER – FARMINGDALE, NY

The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.

MT Group's broad knowledge, technical expertise, and vast experience with public and private construction projects in the New York Metro Area makes them a leader in Special Inspection and Materials Testing field.

JOB SUMMARY

Collections Manager is responsible for developing financial goals and long-term plans aligned with the company's objectives, prepare budgets and forecasts., and analyze trends to advise on business decisions.

The base wage or salary range for this position is up to $75K per year. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Research and analyse billing histories; approve and process billing adjustments
  • Assist with payment application reconciliation  
  • Responsible for collection agencies interactions and bankruptcy notifications
  • Compliance administrator for Textura payment systems
  • Review lien releases and waivers
  • Research and process refunds of overpayments  
  • Provide support to field offices
  • Assist with annual internal and external audit compliance
  • Manage company customer service line
  • Ensure timely conflict resolution
  • Perform other duties as required. 

ESSENTIAL RQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Graduate – Some College
  • 5 years of experience in Collections  
  • The successful candidate must have extensive experience within the construction industry
  • The ability to establish a payment schedule with existing clients and recurring clients
  • Ability to coordinate with each department head on problem issues and utilize the available resources at their disposal with the consent of the Director
  • Must be able to keep up to date information on collections and able to work with the collection agencies if the situation arises
  • Must know Tri-State Lien Filing requirements 
  • Must have the ability to report and chart the trends of delinquent accounts and develop a strategy for debt payment with the Dir of Operations. Familiarity with
  • Microsoft Excel, and reporting software such as Word and Powerpoint

  • ​Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • ​Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
  • ​Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • This is a remote position therefore constant office contact is required
  • ​Ability to travel as business needs dictate​
