JOB PURPOSE
As a Network Coordinator you are responsible for managing, developing and maintaining detailed Network upgrade and rollout plans, financial plans, working with stakeholders to set expectations to ensure network assets are planned for replacement, keeping Intertek assets secure through patch upgrades and ensuring they perform at an optimum level. Typical tasks include:
- Provide central planning by coordinating and communicating with the business units for scheduled patching upgrades and yearly replacement of Network Assets, coordinating with the business on budgets and external vendors, for BOM quotes and new orders.
- Budgeting and planning for deployment of Network Asset end-of-life hardware replacement cycles, for Cisco edge routers, core switches, distribution switches and Wi-Fi equipment.
- Develop and maintain short term and long-term plans for Network asset replacement.
- Maintain rollout plans and weekly dashboards, review and maintain issues logs, weekly reporting against published plans, and escalation of material issues.
- Provide documentation support and maintain upgrade and patch compliance reporting for field site and data center infrastructure.
- You will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to work with peers across a wide range of project initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project coordination skills, budget planning, building high-level design diagrams, building yearly plans for Network Asset upgrades and replacements across the AMER Office and field site locations.
- Work with external suppliers to create and validate BOM Bill of materials for equipment, obtain quotes from vendors for suitable replacements to standards.
- Provide and track the current baseline and replacement plans for end-of-life equipment.
- Maintain and work with the internal team to produce SolarWinds compliance reporting for patching, maintain control charts and publish periodically to stakeholders.
- Co-ordination with Intertek Field Site Office Managers to discuss requirements for upgrade / replacements of greenfield and brownfield network solutions for existing and new branch office deployments and site infrastructure refresh projects, within strict company network standards.
- Operational Patching co-ordination across multiple USA local office network locations.
- Review and maintain run books and documentation for operational teams utilize.
- Lead reviews manage actions, with technical resources to maintain templates for the Meraki Wi-Fi solutions.
- Lead reviews, manage actions with technical resources to templates for the field site standards.
- Lead meetings, manage actions and co-ordinate technical resources who will design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
- Co-ordinate calls with technical teams to maintain technical documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Recommended:
- Project planning, project management and organizational skills (Project management skills or certifications desirable)
- Excellent Excel skills to manage project budgets and forecasts.
- Excellent PowerPoint skills to manage, collate plans for monthly report out.
- Working across time zones and teams to remotely manage project plans, deliverables, resources against timelines.
- Excellent communicational skills to manage across multiple teams and regions.
- Planning and organizational skills must be a self-starter able to assess workloads and deliver draft plans independently for peer review.
- Financial management, able to manage project costs, external supplier SOW and deliverables against an agreed budget.
- Financial forecasting of end-of-life equipment and budget planning for CAPEX and OPEX investment planning to support.
- Knowledge of enterprise network environment,
- Knowledge of Cisco Systems products and solutions
- Knowledge of MPLS network
- Knowledge with implementing and support for Network Security devices (Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, and other non-Cisco Security appliances)
- Working knowledge of network security practices
- Knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure
