Staff Accountant

Intertek is searching for an Staff Accountant to join our SAI team in our Montreal office.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Accounting!

The Staff Accountant is responsible for AP, help with Month end Closing, Balance sheet Account reconciliations.

What you'll do:

  • Work with AP to ensure bills are paid in due time, help resolving issues, etc.
  • Validation of 5X5 for a particular business lines
  • Ensure the integrity and completeness of 5x5 Metrics
  • Analysis of the GL data for accuracy and completeness
  • Help prepare some balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Help with reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Intercompany reconciliations and follow up of differences 
  • Review costs and prepare adjustments entries
  • Provide the Tax Department with the information required
  • Provide information to Internal and External auditors as required       

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • Accounting degree
  • 2- 3 years' experience in similar role
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Oral and written communication skills both French and English [Education requirement]
  • Interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Facilitation skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Being detail-oriented and able to deliver a high level of accuracy
  • Able to work in a stressful environment with tight deadlines
