PURPOSE OF POSITION: Oversee and coordinate the Iowa Select Farms Geographical Information System (GIS) program and supply accurate data to the Nutrient Management Department, applicators, and other Iowa Select Farms support departments. The GIS and compliance Coordinator must ensure that Iowa Select Farms is compliant with all regulations regarding use, storage, and application of manure.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the sampling and delivery of soils, manure or any resource requiring analysis.
- Professionally represent Iowa Select Farms as a liaison with landowner, tenant, custom applicators, and laboratory regarding crop and nutrient management.
- Review all application events from the site-specific application records, maintain records in required format and send field reports to tenants or landowners.
- Always maintain digital Manure Management Plans in an up-to-date status.
- Develop rate application information and guidelines for field staff, custom applicators, landowner and/or tenant.
- Become familiar and then proficient with the Iowa P-index and RUSLE2
- Distribute imagery with acreage, buffer strips, risk areas, field borders, etc. as part of the information provided to a Custom Applicator.
- Maintain the DNR and field application files according to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of Iowa State Extension, crop science and nutrient uptake recommendations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DNR CAFO rules that affect Iowa Select Farms practices.
- Utilize GIS to manage field boundaries by site, maintain accurate application records and soil samples information.
- Responsible for digital application records development and management
- Provide up to date and accurate GIS data to Iowa Select Farms departments based on need.
- Serve as liaison between Nutrient Management Department, Iowa Select Farms Software Developers and other Iowa Select Farms support departments to create the best GIS based products for information and management decisions.
- Oversee Iowa Select Farms relationship with ESRI for support and Iowa Select Farms product development
- Act as a liaison with field personnel on pivot management and application events to ensure the landowner or tenant receive maximum benefit from nutrients and lagoons are lowered to assure maximum capacity during the dormant months.
- Expand the interactivity between Iowa Select Farms GIS and Iowa Select Farms' Tools Application
- Demeanor is expected to be always positive and professional while being helpful, friendly, and respectful to team members and management personal.
- Collaborate as needed with support departments within Iowa Select Farms.
- Follow and comply with all company vehicle guidelines.
- Computer knowledge/ skills- able to run reports, data entry, email, word documents, excel documents, and able to navigate the tools site to be able to find important company documents.
- Be at work on scheduled days and ready to manage activities by region as attendance is critical to the success of this position and focus should be on work related tasks, not personal issues.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The position is performed indoors and outdoors with some tasks being performed outside in various weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- This role uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

- The employee must frequently be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time position
- Flexibility in hours is required during application season along with animal health and staffing challenges
- Work week will total approximately 50 hours
- Occasional weekend work may be required as job duties demand
TRAVEL
- Travel is expected to various Iowa Select Farms facilities which may be local and out-of-area with little to no overnight travel.
LANGUAGE
- Bilingual is not required
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture related field or significant experience and understanding of manure application and overall management practices.
- Required experience with Geographical Information Systems (GIS), internet-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess a valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
