TITLE: Supply Delivery Driver

PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

  • Following all Biosecurity measures is an absolute must, there is no flexibility when it comes to these guidelines that you will become familiar with
  • Responsible for loading, packing, pick-up and delivery of farm site supply orders
  • Responsible to deliver in a timely, efficient, and economical manner
  • May work in the warehouse to support that team when your delivery schedule has completed for the given day

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Per biosecurity, our delivery trucks are kept off-site at our internal car washes, that is where you will start the day to pickup the vehicle. You will also drop your vehicle off there at the end of the delivery schedule.
  • When a delivery schedule is completed and there is still time in the day, you must shower prior to returning to the warehouse to follow Biosecurity guidelines. There is a shower at the Iowa Falls Office to complete this.
  • Read and assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Drive vans, large box trucks and/or passenger vehicles to deliver farm supplies to Iowa Select Farms locations.
  • Assist warehouse team with pulling orders not ready for delivery from warehoused inventory.
  • Demeanor is expected to be always positive and professional while being helpful, friendly and respectful to team members and management personal. 
  • Be at work on scheduled days and ready to work by given start time as attendance is critical to the success of this position. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Adhere to Iowa Select Farms bio-security policy at all times which includes reporting any violations or concerns to management team
  • Compliance with Iowa Select Farms safety policies and procedures which includes continuous education to maintain a safe work environment 
  • Follow Iowa Select Farms animal wellbeing policy at all times and partner with the Production Well-being team in a timely manner if an incident occurs

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position will be performed indoors along with being exposed to performing some tasks outside in weather conditions. 
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites may be loud.
  • This role uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

 

PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.  
  • The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting, staying on hard surfaces for long periods of time and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.    
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  
  • Ability to climb in and out of livestock trailers or supply trucks that can be as short as 48 inches in height
  • Ability to drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time.

 

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • This is a full-time position that will typically require at least 40 hours a week. 
  • 7 am- 4pm Monday- Friday are the typical operational hours of this team.
  • Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges. 

 

TRAVEL.

  • Regular travel to Iowa Select Farms facilities will be required for this position, which entails the utilization of a company vehicle.

 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • CDL is NOT required
