- Certification Details
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome), Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
- Job Details
- Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
- Weekends - variable based on unit needs
- No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
- Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
- First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
- Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
- Patient Diagnoses include Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute leukemias, Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non-hem cancers, Other benign hematology
- Job Requirements
- Skills Required: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs
