Description

Job Summary:
Designs, develops, implements, supervises, and evaluates administrative operations of assigned departments. Represents Kaiser Permanente in community. Assists in Health Plan activities. Provides member/patient services. Implements specific programs to increase membership and enhance fee-for-service revenue. Maintains open communications with Oahu counterparts and staff. Recommends and implements changes to continually enhance Quality-of-Service Program. Coordinates administrative assistance to physicians and supervisors. Supervises assigned staff.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with Clinic Chief and area leadership to ensure high-quality and efficient clinical and non-clinical services.

  • Provides leadership in assessing customer needs and satisfaction levels. Leads and facilitates continuous improvements to ensure customer service and efficiency.

  • Designs, develops and implements plans/projects to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness and quality of care. Monitors and reports status and progress to supervisor.

  • Designs, develops and implements programs supporting recruitment, retention and development of staff. Fosters positive environment for staff growth, development and teamwork.

  • Delegates responsibility to appropriate staff. Coaches and develops staff. Creates opportunities for improvement in areas of weakness.

  • Provides cost-effective functioning of operations at each facility. Applies sound fiscal management practice and efficient organization/utilization of staff and material resources. Ensures continuous cost structure improvements.

  • Ensures safe, attractive patient care facilities. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Participates in planning process for facilities maintenance and development.

  • Establishes collaborative relationship with regional departments to support decisions beneficial to facility and valuable to customers. Facilitates collaborative approach toward improvement and problem resolution.

  • Facilitates cross-functional activities to improve total performance.

  • Serves on regional committees, task forces and teams as assigned.

  • Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff as appropriate.

  • Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.

Basic Qualifications: Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years of management experience.

  • Minimum five (5) years of business operations experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in short and long-range planning.

Education
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, public health, or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A
Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service, interpersonal relations, oral communication, written communication, team building, teamwork, problem solving, and quality management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Masters degree in business administration, public health, or related field OR six (6) years of experience in a directly related field.
