Kamehameha Schools is currently looking for a Manager of Enterprise Information Governance to oversee our Information Governance framework & Governance body, leading a team of 5 direct reports. This person will also operationalize information governance policies and standards as well as promote an information-centric culture.
Our ideal candidate will have the following experience…
7+ years in data management or data governance roles, with a focus on data warehousing, analytics and/or AI readiness.
4 + years as a manager / supervisor of data management, data governance or audit.
Proven experience leading enterprise data governance programs and driving data democratization initiatives, in a large, complex organization.
Experience writing Policies & Procedures.
Job Summary
The Enterprise Information Governance Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide information governance strategies to ensure information is accurate, secure, compliant, and effectively utilized across the organization. This role will oversee data governance initiatives that support data democratization, ethical self-service analytics, and trusted data-driven decision-making. The manager will chair governance councils, enforce policies and standards, lead internal and external audit readiness, and proactively assess and enhance data controls.
Essential Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Governance
Chair and manage data governance councils and working groups to drive cross-functional alignment, shared accountability, and effective implementation of data governance practices and policies.
Drive data democratization efforts by establishing governance practices that balance open data principles with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, enabling compliant, ethical, and efficient self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making.
Lead governance and quality efforts for the KS data and analytics platform, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place so that data is discoverable, accessible, and trustworthy for self-service analytics and data-driven decision making
Oversee internal and external data governance audits by coordinating responses, ensuring timely resolution of findings, and maintaining documentation to demonstrate compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Proactively identify and lead self-assessments and control testing for the data and analytics platform to ensure governance policies, data handling procedures, and access controls are effectively implemented and maintained
Lead the development and execution of metadata management, data lineage, master data management, data cataloging, and data quality capabilities to enhance data transparency, trust, and usability across the organization.
Establish and monitor data quality KPIs for enterprise data and mastered data domains to ensure accuracy, consistency, and fitness for use across critical business processes and analytics.
Records, Content and Archives Management
Develop and lead the strategic direction of enterprise-wide records management policies, systems, and frameworks to ensure efficient, compliant, and secure management of both physical and digital records throughout their lifecycle.
Drive the adoption of records management best practices by overseeing system optimization, implementing technologies, and providing training to ensure consistent adherence to policies and effective management across the organization.
Provide strategic oversight of the school's archives, ensuring the thoughtful preservation, access, and curation of historical records, documents, and cultural artifacts.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with data owners, stewards, business units, technology, legal, internal audit and compliance teams to ensure effective implementation of information governance practices and policies.
Ensure that governance polices and standards are monitored and enforced to ensure consistent, compliant, and effective information and data management practices across the enterprise.
Promote a culture of data literacy and responsible data use through training, documentation, and organizational engagement
Periodically assess and advance enterprise information governance maturity by developing and executing governance assessments, tracking progress against key benchmarks, and maintaining a strategic roadmap for continuous improvement.
Manage full time and contractor resources
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, business administration, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years experience in data management or data governance roles, ideally with a focus on data warehousing and/or analytics.
Minimum of 4 years experience as a data management, data governance or audit manager or supervisor
Proven experience leading enterprise data governance programs and driving data democratization initiatives, ideally in a large, complex organization
Solid understanding of industry-standard governance frameworks as well as data privacy, regulatory compliance, and ethical data use principles
Excellent communication, leadership, facilitation, change management and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, multiple resources, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
Must possess strong analytical, time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the organization's internal processes and procedures.
Experience leading metadata and/or master data management, implementation of data governance frameworks, or data integrity programs for a large organization.
Experience with regulatory and/or compliance activities in a multi-institutional environment strongly preferred.
Prior experience with software development and/or data development projects.
Physical Requirements
Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.
Working Conditions
This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours are often required to meet goals and objectives.
