The Associate Administrator, Enterprise Data & Analytics will provide the overarching vision and strategy for data analysis, data governance and utilization, and assessment for different constituencies across the health system. The incumbent will oversee a wide range of data related functions and teams to define, develop, build, and sustain enterprise data, governance, and quality. Provide comprehensive information and analyses to decision-makers at all levels of the institution, working closely with Information Services and the related departments. Demonstrate highly effective collaboration and influence skills used to interface with a diverse, network of business, operations, and thought leaders and executives. Incumbent will effectively understand problems from a broad perspective, anticipate impact, and provide solutions. The mission of the incumbent is to make data an asset of the organization and to solve complex business problems. Work closely with the research organization to identify novel ways using data to solve complex problems. Collaborate with the Chief Research Informatics Officer to identify complex use cases. Act as a change agent to its various constituents of the organization with thorough understanding of the business while utilizing data.

Essential Duties:

  • Thorough understanding of analytics and how to apply it to business and data strategy.
  • Effectively drive business culture and technology change in a complex environment utilizing data.
  • Demonstrated experience in assuring integrity in analysis and reporting, including the ability to analyze complex data sets; identifying and troubleshooting data integrity issues within the system including cleaning extracted data; and collaborative development of policies and processes around the use and collection of data.
  • Work with a team of data analysts and leaders while providing the supervision, guidance, instruction, and support necessary to ensure institutional data integrity and access are in alignment with Health System strategy.
  • Consistently maintain knowledge on current trends and developments in the field of data management and analytics.
  • Create and conveying a value proposition (oral or written) using external data, including ability to identify the issue (prepare and listen), share insights, validate findings, and present results.
  • Collaborate with departments to create performance dashboards to identify, prioritize, develop, analyze, evaluate, and communicate key datasets and performance metrics.
  • Manage Operational and Capital Budgets to meet target goals and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Bachelor's degree
  • Req 2 years Relevant experience focused on utilizing healthcare data to solve complex problems
  • Req 4 years Healthcare senior management role managing departments providing data/analytics solutions
  • Req Experience navigating a complex matrix organization
  • Req Previous experience in implementing data governance and developing strategy, policies, and procedures required
  • Req Knowledge of information management and quantitative skills, including working knowledge of IT infrastructure, various technologies and platforms, and enterprise specific vendor solutions.
  • Req Must possess exceptional analytical, written, and oral presentation skills.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $233,267.00 - $384,892.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
