The Manager of Finance and Financial Analysis is responsible for the development of financial reporting for senior financial and operational leadership. This position also manages a team of analysts in coordinating and managing departmental budgets, implementing financial benchmarking software, automating financial processes, and reporting for funds flow planning for the medical school.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead and manage a team of financial analysts in the development of analyses and proforma to support hospital and corporate initiatives, including financial evaluation of strategic initiatives.
  • Manages the Financial Analysis team in the ongoing review, management, and dissemination of financial and operational benchmarking data
  • Produce and present findings.
  • Collaborate with the hospital's Clinical Chiefs and Administrators to develop, monitor, and evaluate business plans and pro forma in alignment with the hospital's goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff and recommends further courses of action.
  • Lead the financial analysis team for USC Care for projects of the CFO and Executive Director to provide financial insight and reporting to the USC Care constituencies, ie. CDAs, Clinical Chairs, Operational Leadership, USC System Board.
  • Coordinate the development of budgets for ambulatory cost centers with the financial analyst team and health system leadership. Review, analyze, and report monthly variances, and educate and coordinate with leaders in appropriate corrective action. Lead the financial analysis team in the development of Health System Support and funds flow data supporting negotiations and financial coordination with KSOM
  • Collaborate with other departments including Keck Finance and Decision Support in the ongoing review and optimization of processes and software.
  • Coordinate with Business Intelligence and Application Support in the automation of Finance Department processes.
  • Assist the CFO, Executive Director of Finance and other leaders with special projects which affect the financial performance of the organization.

  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, discipline, training, coaching, mentorship and performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market trends in finance, financial analysis and healthcare.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Bachelor's degree Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Req 5 years 5-7 years' experience in complex financial analysis with at least 2-3 years of lead/supervisory experience.
  • Req Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • Req Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel and applicable finance software
  • Req Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization,
  • Req Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Req Solid understanding and familiarity with accounting concepts and practice, and financial statistics.
  • Req Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref Master's degree Degree in Finance or Accounting


Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,240.00 - $181,896.00.
