The Citrix Engineer, Principal will be expected to influence the enhancement of processes, procedures and workflows for the Information Systems department. Leads strategy development on the enterprise technical environment. Mentors less experienced team members and provides input on performance evaluations. Leads the team in analyzing issues, identifying root causes, developing and recommending key work products. Delivers technical solutions for Citrix services. Develops, manages and tests disaster recovery solutions. Drives and directs quality work efforts including the complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration and administration of internal and external business solutions. Performs complex and often unique work assignments. Advises management on issues. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Keck Medicine of USC.
Essential Duties:
- Defines domain specific architecture design and best practices align with enterprise architecture strategy and industry standards. Evaluates and anticipates the impact of technical solutions on related projects.
- Influences the enhancement of processes, procedures and workflows for the Information Systems department.
- Architects, designs and deploys Citrix solutions – XenApp, XenDesktop, NetScaler, StoreFront, AppLayering, WEM, UPM, etc.
- Mentors and leads other technical architects, developers and engineers. Communicates enterprise architecture strategy, industry standards, relevant technology and business standards/policies.
- Leads the team in analyzing issues, identifying root causes, developing and recommending key work products.
- Drives and directs quality work efforts including the complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration and administration of internal and external business solutions.
- Performs complex and often unique work assignments.
- Advises management on issues.
- Prepares technology documents and white papers that address and communicate domain specific architecture concepts and direction.
- Creates technology roadmaps and thought leadership for long-term strategic solutions.
- Evaluates and anticipates the impact of technical solutions on related projects and on the business.
- Participates in architectural and technical committees. Represents domain specific topics, interests and needs. Serves as the technical Subject Matter Expert across multiple projects for development and engineering teams.
- Facilitates reviews at peer and principal levels for all technical designs and other technical documentation.
- Provides consultation to software developers and engineers. Participates in code design and implementation reviews for domain specific technical solutions. 5%

Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelor's degree Computer Information Systems Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 14 years of relevant business support and/or information technology support experience if no Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Req 10 years Relevant business support and/or information technology support experience
- Req Advanced knowledge of designing, installing, maintaining and configuring Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, StoreFront, NetScaler and provisioning VMs in VMware ESX and/or Nutanix AHV.
- Req Requires a maturing level of analytical ability to find solutions to increasingly difficult technical or administrative problems, to determine economic feasibility or options available, and to assess time involved in system changes. Thorough documentation skills are also required
- Req Must be able to demonstrate experience with Windows Server Operating System, XenApp, XenDesktop, StoreFront, NetScaler, Active Directory and Citrix Group Policies, Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS), AHV and/or ESX hypervisors and experience with system design, capacity planning and capacity management
- Requires an expert level of analytical ability to find solutions to difficult technical or administrative problems, to determine economic feasibility or options available, and to assess time involved in system changes. Thorough documentation skills are also required
- Req Must be able to demonstrate expert level experience with Windows Server Operating System, XenApp, XenDesktop, StoreFront, NetScaler, Active Directory and Citrix Group Policies, Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS), AHV and/or ESX hypervisors and experience with system design, capacity planning and capacity management
- Req Requires hands-on expertise with Windows Server, XenApp, XenDesktop, StoreFront, NetScaler, Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS), and Nutanix AHV and/or VMware ESX
- Req Must be able to communicate the impact and solutions of application/system problems in business language
- Req Requires a professional approach in all situations
- Req Ability to work any hours to support 24/7 operations
- Req Must resolve problems entirely by either completing the work or gathering all of the resources needed for ultimate resolution and continuity of problem management
- Req Availability to travel between Keck Medicine of USC, USC, and other facilities.

- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $121,680.00 -$ 200,772.00.
