Kelly Services Sr. Lead SDET Engineer will design scalable, extensible, and robust test architectures across enterprise SaaS ecosystems. In this role, you will influence testing strategy across multiple product areas, create and refine test frameworks, evaluate new tools and technologies, and establish governance structures that elevate quality engineering maturity.
- Define and evolve end-to-end test automation architecture, ensuring reliability, scalability, and ease of maintenance across teams and platforms.
- Design and implement robust, reusable, and extensible test frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and adoption of testing tools and technologies, ensuring alignment with product and architectural goals.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product stakeholders to ensure the software is testable and meets quality standards early in the lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on quality and test-related metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect leakage, flakiness, and release readiness) to drive continuous improvement and transparency across teams.
- Contribute to defining and enforcing quality governance processes and standards.
- Participate in design reviews to assess testability and ensure long-term architectural quality.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experiences:
- 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with at least 3+ in architecture, principal SDET, or equivalent role.
- Deep experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST-assured).
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript).
- Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and integrations (e.g., Workday, Bullhorn, Salesforce).
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
- Proficient in API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured)
- Understand application architecture, including microservices, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with performance, security, or accessibility testing tools and practices.
- Experience with test data management and synthetic data generation approaches.
- Cloud-based testing: AWS Device Farm, Sauce Labs, BrowserStack.
- Exposure to containerized or microservices environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in test governance or software quality compliance programs.
